Description: Here is a bumper for the When Movies Were Movies presentation of the Marx Brothers classic "A Night at the Opera" on WGN Channel 9.
Notice the artwork of the studio lights is the same as in the other example.
The bumper music is from another portion of the instrumental Overture to Act I of the Original Broadway Cast album of the musical "Dames at Sea" (Columbia Masterworks OS 3330, 1969; music by Jim Wise, book and lyrics by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller).
At the end of the bumper you can see a quick flash of the beginning of the first commercial - this to me looks like a classic Ginsu Knives ad!
Not sure when this aired, as this is the only existing piece other than the movie itself, but likely 1979 or earlier.
