Description: Not from Chicago, but rather from a sister Field station in Philadelphia - WKBS Channel 48 - that was at the time a few weeks away from leaving the air permanently, a victim of the implosion of Field Communications.

This is an installment of Snipets which we're entitling "Homework First." The later animated Snipets open is used with the worms materializing and ending up inside a circle with the title atop them, and a 1974 copyright date is listed; though credited to Field Communications, it was produced in the Kaiser Broadcasting era.

The piece itself is of the kind of "stop-motion" animation prevalent on such 1960's shows as Davey and Goliath, with the kid doing the homework almost resembling Davey. A glass of milk, a ball, a cheeseburger sandwich, a transistor radio, a telephone, an object making a sound almost like a bee, and a television all move towards him (and making noises along the way), but he has to concentrate on his task. After finishing - and saying to the audience, "Have you done your homework yet? I have" - he gestures towards all the various material things to come over.

This ends with the "Produced by Field Communications" version of the ending Snipets bumper. (voiceover by ?? - still have no idea who this is)

This aired on local Philadelphia TV on Tuesday, July 12th 1983 during the 5:00pm to 5:30pm (Eastern) timeframe. (during the last few weeks of the station's existence)

Another confirmed "non-Field" station to air "Snipets," as of 1980, was KTLA Channel 5 in Los Angeles (future sister to our own WGN Channel 9).

A keyword search of Newspapers.com yielded Snipets airings listed on the schedules of WMTV Channel 15 in Madison, Wisconsin from 1979-1982.

Anyone know which New York City station aired "Snipets"? (Either would have been WNEW Channel 5 or WPIX Channel 11 - unless WOR Channel 9 aired them within "Romper Room.")
