Description: Here's a segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop.

As it states this is a "generic" film intro (#32), with Sven goofing around with some video effects. In the early days of the show, SYT consisted mainly of voiceover announcements for the movie, which was eventually expanded into full appearances by Svengoolie. Though it's from after that era, this clip gives you a sense of what the program was like in those early days.

The "Len O'Connor" Sven mentions was a famous news commentator and editorialist on WMAQ Channel 5.

The song you hear in the background was Svengoolie's theme song, the 1958 instrumental "Rumble" by Link Wray and his Ray Men. (with a loop of some screams added for good measure)
