Description: Here's Part 2 of the live, special discussion program Sunday, Nuclear Sunday: Kansas City Reacts on KMBC Channel 9 in Kansas City, MO. This show, which aired right after the ABC telefilm The Day After, was hosted by Larry Moore (formerly of WLS Channel 7).
This part starts off with Larry asking FEMA regional director Patrick Breheny about the agency's level of preparedness (at one point he promotes a booklet entitled "In Time of Emergency"). Next Dr. Jennifer Leaning speaks about treating radiation from a nuclear attack (she asserts it "can't be really cured"), and Dr. Sidney Williams accuses Dr. Leaning and Dr. Ehrlich (and also ABC itself) of being part of a fearmongering and propaganda campaign. Larry then goes to Scott Feldman at the vastly-attended Lawrence candlelight peace vigil, who in turn is followed by Gary Gunter at the not-so-well attended rally at the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City.
This aired on local Kansas City TV on Sunday, November 20th 1983 during the 9:25pm to 10:10pm timeframe.
