Description:

Dirty Dragon Roars Back To Life!

Unearthed from a 2" Quadruplex videotape stashed away and nearly forgotten, and with a beautiful direct-to-digital transfer financed by donations, The Museum of Classic Chicago Television (www.FuzzyMemories.TV) is proud to present this "lost" episode, which has not been seen publically since it originally aired on WFLD-TV forty years ago!

Here's Part 1 of a rare surviving edition of Bill Jackson's The BJ & Dirty Dragon Show on WFLD Channel 32. This was from the original 2" quadruplex master tape. Includes:

Brief color bars and 400 Hz tone

Stationary BJ & Dirty Dragon Show bumper slide with short tone blips to signify countdown

Opening segment (with "Cartoon Town" sign which was the show's original title), starting with banter between Fenster and Mother Pearl Plumtree, followed by postmaster Dirty Dragon insisting "something's sneaking around back there," before Mayor B.J. (Jackson) opens the show with a few words with the talking "Suggestion Box" and advising that Foo-Foo and Mertz are heading towards Mars, with Mertz appointed Minister of Peanut Butter, then previewing the cartoons to be shown this day (such as Super Chicken), promising a visit with the Blob and hoping that "whatever made the town frown yesterday won't be back." Next, we see appearances by Wally Goodscout and Weird, followed by Dr. Doompuss whose brooding, ominous presence concludes this segment.

This aired on local Chicago TV some time between January and September of 1972.
