Description: Here's the third and final take of a (evidently lipsynced) performance from a band called "The Circus" - recorded at WREX Channel 13 in Rockford, IL. (Not sure if this ever ran on or was intended to run on WCIU Channel 26 or not.)

This came from the other Quad tape that I found in Jack Mulqueen's basement recently. (Recorded in low band, according to the slate at the opening of this clip - as accompanied by an 800 Hz tone).

I was hoping this tape might have contained another episode of Kiddie-a-Go-Go, but such is the hit-or-miss nature when finding and transferring old tapes. :-/ (The band's other takes of their miming to this song can be seen here and here.)

This take begins with a false start, with the tape machine stopping and noticeably reversed back to the beginning several times before they start their performance. This performance has some elements of the earlier takes - mostly straight, except for the camera moving upwards from the band to a studio light at the end.

This group seems along the lines of horn-heavy bands such as Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears, albeit with each member taking turns singing lead vocal within a verse a la (PB sandwiches) The Temptations and Sly & The Family Stone.

Other than that, I'm as perplexed as the rest of you.

Directed by Dave Suekoff.

This was recorded on Thursday, February 27th 1969.
