Description: Here's Part 1 of Fahey Flynn Presents: Seven's Greetings, a Christmas Eve special hosted by the legendary news anchor on WLS Channel 7.

This was transferred from the original 2" quad master tape (long since trashed) onto 3/4" Umatic, from which this transfer was made. The show was recorded on Tuesday, December 19th 1972.

Includes:

Very brief shot of EIA RS-189A color bars with 1 kHz tone, followed by countdown and display of slate marked: "Flynn Xmas Special - Show - TK1 - Air 12-24 - Rec. 12-19 - Tubbs"

Opening titles, set to a synthesized version of "Jingle Bells," starting with still slide of Chicago skyline at night, over which Fahey Flynn Presents fades in and out at top left; followed by faraway shot of WLS-TV's entrance at 190 North State Street from which Seven's Greetings zooms in, after which we see closer shots of the WLS sign at top (with the logo followed by the call letters followed by the "abc" logo)

Fahey, opening with his trademark "How do you do, ladies and gentlemen" greeting, and previewing the coming hour of "our personal holiday greetings to you and your family" with appearances by key WLS personalities and musical performances by the Viking Ensemble from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in neighboring Flossmoor
