Description: Here's an ABC News Special Report on the death of Irish Republican Army (IRA) member Bobby Sands at age 27 after a 66-day hunger strike, reported by Ted Koppel in Washington. He mentioned that Mr. Sands, who was serving a 14-year prison sentence for weapons possession and demanding special status as a political prisoner, died at Belfast's Maze Prison at 1:17am Tuesday (the 5th) Belfast time, which would have been 8:17pm Eastern time (and, therefore, 7:17pm Chicago time). Mr. Koppel ends the report by promising more details on this evening's edition of Nightline.
