Description: HERE'S ANOTHER LONG LOST SNIPETS SEGMENT! Features a young Black/Asian (?) lad, contemplating his physical features, while we hear his internal monologue.
This one actually came from 16mm film and interestingly, includes the opening and closing Snipets bumpers - the Kaiser Broadcasting variation no less.
This is one of the "Pride Has Many Faces" series of Snipets of which this was another example.
I found this film reel, quite randomly, in an Ebay auction. Of course, the big questions are if there are more somewhere, and also where did this originate and why haven't more popped up yet? There are so many people who buy and sell 16mm films, especially ones with commercials, PSAs or old educational films. Compare this rare find to the Most Important Person series where it seems like you can always find a few listings of 16mm MIP on Ebay. I'm thinking it probably has to do with the fact that the MIP shorts were at some point distributed for classroom use and that's probably why more of them are around. Snipets doesn't appear to have had that luxury. So, for all we know, this reel could have been salvaged from the dumpster of a former Kaiser/Field station that was throwing out it's old "junk".
There's no copyright date on the film, but based on the Kaiser Broadcasting logo it has to be pre-September 1977 at least. I choose 1976.
