Description: Remember that classic sitcom from 1977 called "Off the Wall"? No? Well neither does anyone else because it only aired once - on May 7th 1977. A failed television pilot.
What do you think the odds are that someone in the Chicagoland area (not connected with the production of the show) recorded the entire show, with the original commercial breaks intact, didn't ever record over the tape, and then saved the tape for 38 years before we got our hands on it? (just to give you some historical perspective, on the date this aired, Star Wars hadn't even premiered in theaters yet)
Includes:
Opening credits of Off the Wall (recording starts a few seconds late so we don't get to see the title credit)
Off the Wall sponsorship notice by Crest Toothpaste, featuring a title bumper card of sorts for the show
Commercial: Crest Toothpaste - The Crest Tests Through the Years
Opening 8 minutes or so of the program
This aired on local Chicago TV on Saturday, May 7th 1977.
