Description: Here's an interesting item we found recently - what seems like a demo reel from a company called Asch and Associates - Film and Videotape Production, for someone named Bill Cassidy, who presumably was the producer or director behind all of these spots. If anyone has any additional information, please let us know. Includes:

Asch and Associates - Film and Videotape Production - "Bill Cassidy" opening titles with cool 70s music

Diet Pepsi (featuring "Music to Watch Girls By" - a 1967 hit for "The Bob Crewe Generation" inspired by this commercial jingle)

WBBM Channel 2 News - Walter Jacobson - Cab driver spot - "You can't take 'em lightly"

Fab Laundry Detergent - featuring Kathy (or Cathy) the tomboy - "Oh Fab, I'm Glad - there's lemon-fresh Borax in you..." (C) 1975 Colgate-Palmolive Company

1976 Pontiac Grand Prix - "Since the Day you First Saw One"

Falls City Beer - "Nobody makes us make beer this good."

FTD Florists - "Remember Mother, not just on Mother's Day"

Generation - Recycled paper products such as paper towels and bathroom tissue

American Family Insurance - "You Buy It For Her"

Doritos Tortilla Chips - "Car Mechanics" (featuring Avery Schreiber)

Asch and Associates - Film and Videotape Production end title

Maybe this guy is him? Looks like his film production work started in 1976 and maybe this commercial demo got him the job!

In some ways, the Asch logo is reminiscent of a portion of the logo for WNET Channel 13 in Newark, NJ / New York City, as used from c.1972 to about 1977. I wonder if the same designer did both logos?

I remember drinking those diet sodas back in the '70s. They had a nasty aftertaste, almost tasted like metal.
