Here's another tantalizing glimpse into what WFLD Channel 32 looked like in 1977! A partial commercial break from an airing of Fernwood 2 Night - back in the Kaiser Broadcasting era!
Includes a snippet of a commercial for Grand-Spaulding Dodge in Chicago and Buffalo Grove, as well as a tiny snippet of another commercial (paint?)
This aired on local Chicago TV on Wednesday, July 13th 1977.

Here's a different Kaiser Broadcasting ID than the one we just saw - this one is a few months older and by this time they had upgraded to an animated one. Same music and voiceover though.
We can probably assume that the exact same ID would air on WFLD during this period.

Here it is at long last! A complete Kaiser Broadcasting ID! I wish I could say this was from a Chicago recording, but it actually comes from a tape made off of one of WFLD's sister stations - WKBD Channel 50 in Detroit.
As you can hear at the end of this clip (in an extremely brief snippet) - the same music was used in the WFLD one, so it's very likely that they were identical (except perhaps for the ...
WFLD Channel 32 - Mission: Impossible - "Break!" (Bumper Excerpt, 1977)

Here's something pretty rare and cool, though it's only very brief - an excerpt of a bumper from Mission: Impossible on WFLD Channel 32 during the Kaiser Broadcasting era! If you pause the video near the end you can see a stylized slide of Peter Graves along with the show name and WFLD Kaiser logo.
Rarer than a Hen's tooth, this stuff is. ;-)
This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, April 1st 1977 during the 9pm to 10pm timeframe.

WFLD Channel 32 - Weather Alert (1978?)
Here's an emergency weather alert from WFLD Channel 32, advising of "severe snowstorms and travelers advisories."
Notice at the end, the Kaiser-era "32" logo, plus the use of various weights of the Avant Garde typeface, that typified the station's "look" within its 1973-77 interregnum under Kaiser Broadcasting ownership, plus the first year or so after Field Communications reasserted control.
The music that opened this segment and was heard throughout this aler...

Here's a brief glimpse at a couple commercial bumpers from America 2 Night on WFLD Channel 32 from 1978 - still featuring the Kaiser-era logo.
The first one, before it gets cut off, features the zooming show name and WFLD logo - an effect they used for many years on a variety of shows.
The second one, sounds like it has a special ID voiceover by Martin Mull made specifically for WFLD - sure sounds like his voice to me, anyway.

Here's a nice example of the Kaiser Broadcasting era on-screen station ID for WFLD Channel 32, during an episode of Mission: Impossible.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, April 1st 1977 during the 9pm to 10pm timeframe.
WFLD Channel 32 - Emergency One (Promo, 1977-78)

Here's a promo for Emergency One (original syndicated title for the 1972-77 series Emergency!) on WFLD Channel 32. This promo, with no voiceover, starts off with the station's then-current "Look At Us!" slogan (with Kaiser-era logo) and shows short segments from various Emergency! episodes.
Since this was from a master tape we can only assume that it would have had a voiceover by Ron Beattie and a super of the WFLD logo and show name at the end, when it ac...
