Girls Clubs of America - "Girls Clubs Are Great!" (PSA, 1973)

Here's a PSA for the Girls Clubs of America, with a female singer/guitarist extolling the virtues of the Girls Clubs, and film footage spotlighting a young gymnast interspersed with clips of one girl looking on as a car engine is being repaired, a stage audition with budding ballerinas, a campfire sing along, and a gathering in a room with a handwritten "DALLAS OR BUST" sign on the wall in one corner.

Not sure what year this is from - 1982 would make sense based on it's location on the tape, but it seems older than that to me.

This station has a bit of a confusing history, but it now occupies the frequency 1690 AM.

WVON was a "heritage" station to Chicago's black community featuring great Black air personalities like Lucky Cordell, Bruce Brown, Herb Kent "the cool gent", Yvonne Daniels and many others.
