WFLD Channel 32 - Emergency One (Promo, 1977-78)

Here's a promo for Emergency One (original syndicated title for the 1972-77 series Emergency!) on WFLD Channel 32. This promo, with no voiceover, starts off with the station's then-current "Look At Us!" slogan (with Kaiser-era logo) and shows short segments from various Emergency! episodes.

Since this was from a master tape we can only assume that it would have had a voiceover by Ron Beattie and a super of the WFLD logo and show name at the end, when it ac...

Here is yet another version of the Way to Go! program produced by Field Communications - this one hosted by none other than Doctor Donald D. Rose (Dr. Don!). WFLD Channel 32 - Lost in Space (Promo, 1977)

Here's a neat promo for Lost in Space on WFLD Channel 32. The opening super is patterned after the first (released) "Star Wars" movie which was referenced in the intro.

We also see the production slate at the beginning showing that this was number 8977 and was directed by Don Shannon. The promo was recorded on 8-10-77 - eight days after Channel 32's prior owner, Kaiser Broadcasting, was subsumed by original owner Field Communications.

Voiceover by Bud Kel...

Laser Blast by Activision (Commercial, 1981)

Here's a commercial for the home video game Laser Blast by Activision, touting itself as "A New Game Cartridge for Your Atari Video Game System" (and contrasting itself to its "dull" predecessors). The purpose is to go after the other side's force fields and dodge their tracking systems. (Ah, remember those good ol' days? ;-) )

"Atari"(R) and "Video Computer System"(TM) are trademarks of Atari, Inc.

With a lower-third super towards the end as to what sto...

Here is commercial break #1 for the presentation of "Strawberry Shortcake: Pets on Parade" on WFLD Metromedia Channel 32's Afternoon Fun program. This also dates to October 1984. (Since this wasn't normally part of the Afternoon Fun lineup, it must have been a special shown around Halloween) This one has a better quality picture. Includes:

Strawberry Shortcake bumper

Care Bears figures (Wish Bear, Birthday Bear, Grumpy Bear)

Barbie Dream Bed

The Eight Days of Chanukah - "Super Nosh" with Jack Klugman (1979)

Here's another short piece on one of the aspects of the eight days of Chanukah (or do you say Hanukkah), with actor Jack Klugman (a.k.a. Oscar Madison of the TV series version of The Odd Couple, and also the title character of Quincy, M.E. that was airing on the NBC network at the time of this segment) describing the various foods served during the holidays, including goose stuffed with dumplings; kugel (a pudding containing noodles, cheese and raisins); latkes (potato pancakes)...

GK Chevrolet Of Downers Grove (Commercial, 1977)

Here's an extremely low budget commercial for GK Chevrolet in Downers Grove. It looks like someone's Super 8 home movies, and it isn't helped by a technical problem with the audio - the announcer keeps cutting out. Then he seems a bit lost. Finally, the last 15 seconds of the live read feature dead air with a clock plaintively ticking in the background.

GK Chevrolet is now Bill Kay Chevrolet - part of the Bill Kay Automotive Group - still at the same place, 1601 Ogden Avenue...
