Rolling Stone...The 10th Anniversary - "A Day In The Decade" (1977)

Here's something that's pretty awful and bizarre, a segment from the Rolling Stone 10th Anniversary special - a Beatles tribute medley called "A Day in the Decade". It goes on for over 14 minutes, and mercifully perhaps the person recording it decided that was enough. (I think it was almost over anyway)

Local Trivia Note: This special was stereo simulcast (simulcasted?) in the Chicago area on WBBM-FM 96.3.

This aired on local Rockford, IL TV on Friday, November ...

Children's Bargain Town U.S.A. - "Huffy Bicycle Sale" (Commercial, 1971?)

Here's a brief commercial for Children's Bargain Town U.S.A., promoting a sale on Huffy Bicycles' 20-inch Dragster for boys and girls for only $28.87. Note a reference at the end to Toys "R" Us (of which Children's Bargain Town was a Chicago-area sister chain). Eventually the Children's Bargain Town name was phased out and completely replaced by Toys 'R' Us.

Here's a commercial for A&P Food Stores, with a butcher on duty pointing to the right kind of London broil for two women to buy (one with a pretty obvious voice overdub) while on their shopping trip. This scenario was cited as "another reason why you'll do better at A&P."

Ending voiceover by ??, with sale on center cut Chuck Roast (wasn't he a former anchorman here in Chicago?) for 98 cents a pound, available at all Indianapolis area A&P stores through Saturday, August 4th.

Here's one of the few glimpses yet found of a show that a lot of people remember and have requested footage of - Monster Rally Movie! This aired on WSNS Channel 44 and reportedly had it's own host - a mysterious figure in a creepy costume. Here we get to see another partial commercial bumper from the show - the only type of footage (other than the movie itself) known to exist currently. The movie this night was the very weird 1973 film Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural.
