Hey, remember that 1980s show Double Dare? Well, here's a preview, opening and ending (along with some breaks) for the program.

However, if you're expecting to see Marc Summers and kids doing stunts getting slimed, then you're thinking of the wrong show. This Double Dare was a short-lived Billy Dee Williams vehicle that co-starred Ken Wahl (best known for his starring role in the CBS series Wiseguy), as well as Joe Maher and Janet Carroll (the latter as...

WFLD Channel 32 - Son Of Svengoolie - "Dracula" (Song & Break #1, 1981)

Just unearthed some more vintage Sven - Here's the song and commercial break from Son of Svengoolie episode #122 showing the original "Dracula" on WFLD Channel 32. This is actually the earliest off-air recording yet found of a Son of Svengoolie episode. (There are earlier bits, but those are from studio masters, or are just promos - not from an off-air episode.) It's too bad more of this stuff hasn't turned up yet.

Unfortunately, the person who recorded the show did it in ...

Tales of the Unexpected - "American Syndicated Version" (Opening, 1984?)

At long last, here is the different version of the opening to Tales of the Unexpected, the creepy British anthology show, when it was syndicated to America in the late-seventies to early eighties. The show was exactly the same, except for the opening and closing titles (although the music sounds a little bit different than the British version, it's definitely not the same if you listen to them side by side) This American version featured the spooky horse carousel that I think actuall...

WFLD Channel 32 - The Rifleman (Last Break - Partial, 1971?)

Here's a partial excerpt of the last commercial break (in black and white and then switching to some color) from an airing of an episode of The Rifleman on WFLD Channel 32. Includes:

Dancing Dawn Doll (This time in color!) (incomplete)

Really quick flash of Joel Daly on the WLS Channel 7 news.

Flip to the ending of an episode of Gilligan's Island - if this was 1971 it would be on WGN from 5:30 to 6pm, which fits it with the ending time of the Rifle...

Here's the opening and first commercial break for the next-to-last presentation of the short-lived series, Sword of Justice, on WMAQ Channel 5; this episode, "Port of Entry," was originally telecast on December 24th 1978.

The series - one of several offerings over the years from Glen A. Larson (a former member of the 1950's and '60's singing group The Four Preps) - starred Dack Rambo as Jack Cole, an avenger a la Zorro only without the mask, and co-starred Alex Courtney ...
