WCIX Channel 6 - Snipets - "Girls Play Ball Too" (1984)
Here's another rare Snipets segment! These originally were created by and aired on the Kaiser Broadcasting / Field Communications stations such as WFLD Channel 32, in the 70s and early 80s. However, with the sale and dissolution of Field starting in 1982, for whatever reason Snipets segments popped up on a few other non-Field or former-Field stations, even as late as 1986!
This particular a...
R/Greenberg Associates - "Demo Reel" (1979?)
Here's a demo reel from R/Greenberg Associates (now known as R/GA Media Group Inc.), which was a New York-based graphic production house that worked in film with animation and live-action effects.
This came from a 3/4" Umatic tape that was kept by Cathy Mustari, art director for WFLD Channel 32 from 1974 to the late '80's, from a time when the station was actively shopping for production houses to handle their graphics for opens/closes, bumpers, promos, etc.

This Break #2 from an unknown episode number again features "Professor" Irwin Corey - from Mr. Kelly's. He's a comedian who is still around! Check out his website and some other information.

WLS Channel 7 - The 3:30 Movie - "Northwest Mounted Police" (Promo, 1972)
Here's something very rare - a [sound modified] promo for an upcoming 3:30 Movie presentation (in two parts) of the 1940 film "Northwest Mounted Police" (directed by Cecil B. DeMille and starring Gary Cooper and Paulette Goddard) on WLS Channel 7, from within the venerable afternoon movie showcase's early years.
Pretty neat find, showing different 3:30 Movie title graphics than we've seen before. Anyone remember this version? Could it have only been used for the...
Field Communications - Internal Sales Tape (Part 1, 1980)

Field Communications was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Field Enterprises - which at one time owned the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper. Chock full of vintage station id's, bumpers, slides, logos, jingles, promos, you name it!
This presentation includes: ratings and audience share summaries, mention of Field Spot Sales joining forces with The Katz Agency to form I...

Here's an especially rare Halloween Treat for 2012!
Here is the intro to, and a promo for, Freaky Films (a.k.a. [at least according to one source] Freaky Film of the Week), a short-lived horror movie showcase that aired Saturdays on WLS Channel 7 from April 10th 1971 to September 11th 1971 (ending 30 years to the day before that other 9/11).
Both films start off with a brief title card of the logo of the company that processed it (Metr...
Way to Go! Special (Part 8 - Final One, 1980)
Here is the eighth and final part of the Field Communications produced Way to Go! Special - an hour long (compilation?) showcase of some special kids and what they do. Has a lot of nice little slices of late seventies life as a kid. :-) The tape was dated May of 1980. My contact says that only a few of these "Specials" were made. Like I said, I'm not sure if these were compilations of segments shown on the regular Way to Go program, or if they were specifically produced for these specials. I ...
