Now the bad news - they only recorded the cartoons, and cut out nearly everything else. :-( I bring you the only snippets left - a few excerpts of the clock that they would show the time on, and in some cases, the chalkboard with the date, weather, and sports scores. Here is the closing for Super Cartoon Sunrise on WFLD Channel 32. This version featured the later "Metromedia 32" logo for the station as opposed to the "classic" Field Communications logo.

Here's a rare glimpse at some early history of WTTW Channel 11 - an installment of their locally produced "Inside Educational Television" program.

It is hosted by WTTW's "Director of Development", Ed Morris - who famously later went on to become the General Manager of WSNS Channel 44!

Joined by Ed is Duane M. Weiss, WTTW's Director of Engineering at the time (who was actually with the station all the way back to before its official inception).

Here's a video montage (missing beginning part) that WMAQ Channel 5 used as part of their sign-off apparently for a few years. It features the song "Memory" from the musical "Cats", and showcases Chicagoland senior citizens and various aspects in their lives. Kind of a strange thing to show during sign-off. I mean, for what purpose was this made? Other than to make you realize that your life is going by as you watch TV at 3 in the morning before the station signs-off? ;-)
