KTLA Channel 5 [Los Angeles, CA] - The Snipets - "Acorn Whistle" (1980)
Here's another rare Snipets segment! (or as it was amusingly called here "The Snipets"). These originally were created by and [primarily] aired on the Kaiser Broadcasting / Field Communications stations such as WFLD Channel 32, in the 1970's and early '80's.
However, in yet another discovery that broadens the history of where these aired - this one was discovered by Joe D'Angelo on a Betamax recording of a broadcast of the educational kids program, "Big Blue Marble" on KTLA C...

WSNS Channel 44 - The Dating Game - "Joey D'Auria" (Part 1, 1980)
What are the odds? Recorded at random and saved without meaning to, here is an episode of The Dating Game on WSNS Channel 44. Cool enough because it has the original commercial breaks intact - however as I was scanning through it I slowly recognized the face - Chicago's Bozo the Clown the Second, Mr. Joey D'Auria was one of the bachelors!
In Part 1, we hear the intro to the show given by host Jim Lange - it's cut off slightly, however from what he says later in the sho...

Here's another segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. By this point, if the clapboard is of any indication, the SYT title had been eschewed in favor of Svengoolie.
This segment (#1-1) is from Show #59 (according to the clapboard). However, there is no recording date.
In this segment, Svengoolie introduces the rock band ...
WFLD Channel 32 - The Honeymooners (Ending, 1979)

Here's the ending for an episode of The Honeymooners on WFLD Channel 32. The ending theme and specially created colored picture shot (with "zooming text" at the end - or in this case would that be "bang-zooming text"?) are delayed as a voiceover promo for Happy Days Again is played too early (voiceover by Ron Beattie), and is heard over black for a few seconds before cutting off; then after the extended bumper starts, another Beattie voiceover previews upcoming episodes of S...

Here's a commercial for The Baby Doll Polka Club - at 7315 South Western Avenue - Eddie and Irene Korosa's bar that featured live Polka music every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This spot aired regularly during "Eddie Korosa's Polka Party" on WCIU Channel 26.
She also advertises their radio show Sundays from 4-6pm on WOPA AM 1490. According to Wikipedia, "In the early 70s Sonderling Broadcasting bought the station WOPA-AM. The call letters WOPA stood for The Oak Park Arms,...
WMAQ Channel 5 - The NBC News Midnight Special Report - "Death of Rockefeller" (1979)

Here's an NBC News Special Report on the death of former Vice President and New York Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller as aired on WMAQ Channel 5. The bulletin came at the end of a commercial break and interrupted an edition of The Midnight Special which featured The Village People amongst the musical guests. I left some of the song in at the end for fun. Includes:
Tail end of commercial for Tickle anti-perspirant for women - "You'll Love The Way It Works" - (C) B...
Dispensa's Castle Of Toys (Commercial, 1979)

Here's only the second commercial for Dispensa's Castle of Toys that we've ever found!
Same great session music (oh, to have the original tapes of this - maybe it was done by the same people who did the Super Cartoon Sunrise theme) - this one has less creepy Santa though.
Dispensa's Castle of Toys was located in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois on Route 83 and Roosevelt Road.
