Here's a technical difficulties moment from within the opening moments of The Jack Benny Program on WFLD Channel 32. This starts with a bumper for Bristol-Myers Company (typesetting in Kabel Medium) - "The Makers of Bufferin" (voiceover by Bud Kelly) which lasts on-screen for the first 23 seconds.

Next is the opening of the show (with voiceover by Jack's longtime announcer Do...

Svengoolie/Son of Svengoolie - Assorted Clips Compilation (Part 1)

Here is Part 1 of a compilation of assorted Son of Svengoolie (and in turn, the original Svengoolie) clips. I did not make this compilation - it has been floating around the trading circles for a long time, and this is the best copy I've been able to find. It has some neat clips you will not see anywhere else. It's labeled "Son of Svengoolie - 1979 to 1983 - Clips" in a crude computer generated font - again, I did not produce any of this.

Featuring:

Playing ov...

Way to Go! Special (Part 5, 1980)

Here is Part 5 of the Field Communications produced Way to Go! Special - an hour long (compilation?) showcase of some special kids and what they do. Has a lot of nice little slices of late seventies life as a kid. :-) The tape was dated May of 1980. My contact says that only a few of these "Specials" were made. Like I said, I'm not sure if these were compilations of segments shown on the regular Way to Go program, or if they were specifically produced for these specials. I am pretty sure thi...

Special Report (voiceover by Mike Rapchak, who identified himself at the end of this report) about a report from Eyewitness News' Hugh Hill about Governor James Thompson's adjournment of a ...

WKBS Channel 48 - Snipets - "The Body Machine" (1983)

From another airing of a Flintstones rerun on the late, lamented WKBS Channel 48 in Philadelphia, PA, here is a segment of Snipets which we've entitled "The Body Machine."

With the beginning "worms" opening leading the way (and 1977 copyright date), we start off with a shot of a pre-teen boy running in slow motion as the narrator shows how the human body is like a machine, and as such has to be checked every now and then. Most of this segment takes place during a...

WGN Channel 9 - The Ray Rayner Show - "Clock Excerpts #4" (1975)

The transfer of this video clip made possible by your generous donations!

Here's the good news - someone recorded The Ray Rayner Show at various times in the early seventies! Now the bad news - they only recorded the cartoons, and cut out nearly everything else. :-( I bring you the only snippets left - a few excerpts of the clock that they would show the time on, and in some cases, the chalkboard with the date, weather, and sports scores. Some might wonder why...

WFLD Channel 32 - The Baxters - "Women's Roles In Marriage"(Part 2, 1980)

Here's Part 2, the final part of the Norman Lear created "interactive" program, The Baxters, as aired on WFLD Channel 32.

It was a pretty unique idea - the first half would be a fairly normal sitcom (whether or not it's any good is another question) that dealt with some issue of the day. The second half would be an in-studio discussion group to talk about the issues raised. Each city had their own locally produced second half (except for those who chose to use the "nat...
