Here's a saucy commercial for WBMX - "Progressive" FM 103.
The call letters WBMX (standing for Black Music EXperience), were originally assigned to 102.7 on the FM dial in Oak Park/Chicago Illinois from 1973 to 1988. (That station frequency is now home to R&B station WVAZ - better known as V-103). In 1991, the call letters WBMX were assigned to 98.5 on the FM dial in the Boston area.
Contains some quick clips of the Chicago White Sox.

GK Chevrolet Of Downers Grove (Commercial, 1977)
Here's an extremely low budget commercial for GK Chevrolet in Downers Grove. It looks like someone's Super 8 home movies, and it isn't helped by a technical problem with the audio - the announcer keeps cutting out. Then he seems a bit lost. Finally, the last 15 seconds of the live read feature dead air with a clock plaintively ticking in the background.
GK Chevrolet is now Bill Kay Chevrolet - part of the Bill Kay Automotive Group - still at the same place, 1601 Ogden Avenue...

PM Magazine Chicago - "Son Of Svengoolie" (1981)

Here's a great feature on Rich Koz and the Son of Svengoolie that aired on PM Magazine Chicago featuring Mike Leiderman. Has a lot of really great footage, even of some famous Berwyn landmarks. (having grown up in the area this footage is priceless to me)
So many great things in this piece it's almost hard to count - love the footage of old WFLD in Marina City - I don't know anywhere else where you can see what it used to look like. I like the Kaiser-era logo hanging down an...
