WLS Channel 7 - "The Original 3:30 (4:30) Movie Opening!" (1969-1973?)

Ok, I couldn't resist doing a little "photoshop job" on the 4:30 Movie logo to make it look like 3:30. ;-) But this is still a significant find - the original opening to the ABC 4:30 Movie in New York (which apparently was exactly the same as the WLS 3:30 Movie here in Chicago, except with the title changed)

My thanks to YouTuber mazinz2 (Doug) for discovering this, and for generously donating a copy of the ...

ABC Minute Magazine - "Tis the Night Before Christmas" (1978)

Here's a segment of ABC Minute Magazine, an interstitial feature run by the network in the mid-to-late 1970's in-between daytime soaps. This segment deals with the collected works of Clement Moore, author of what was originally published as "A Visit from St. Nicholas" but became better known as "The Night Before Christmas." Hosted by James Walker (who had reported on the death of high-wire artist Karl Wallenda earlier in the year, as seen on

WCIX Channel 6 - Snipets - "Bad for You" (1984)

Here's another rare Snipets segment! These originally were created by and aired on the Kaiser Broadcasting / Field Communications stations such as WFLD Channel 32, in the 70s and early 80s. However, with the sale and dissolution of Field starting in 1982, for whatever reason Snipets segments popped up on a few other non-Field or former-Field stations, even as late as 1986!

This particular a...

Snipets - "Come Back Here" (1981)

Well, at long last - here it is - Fuzzy's #1 most-wanted clip. Remembered by most people who watched *ANY* WFLD in the late-70s / early 80s (and on other Field affiliates and syndicated stations) - the infamous "Come Back Here" Snipets segment (A.K.A., the "Come Back Can" as I wrongly dubbed it for many years).

As with a lot of things that are looked for and eventually found, there is a bit of "That's it, is it?" underwhelming sentiment - it's only 60 seconds long, after all -...

WLS Channel 7 - Eyewitness News - "Film Developing" (1974)

The transfer of this video clip made possible by your generous donations!

Here's a rare excerpt from WLS Channel 7's Eyewitness News, from back in the days when all reports from out "in the field" came from film, and sometimes were being developed as the newscast was running.

Frank Mathie introduces the "Action Seven" piece, with Geoff Smith reporting about how film stories aired on Eyewitness News are shot; in this instance, one film crew is...

WSNS Channel 44 - The Money Movie - "China Gate" (Ending, 1979)

Here's some rare footage from another long-lost local movie show - "The Money Movie" on WSNS TV-44! The movie presented on this day was "China Gate". TMM was similar in concept to Dialing for Dollars. Viewers (mostly lonely housewives and old people from what it sounds like) would send in post cards with their name and phone number, and the host would call them live on the air during the movie breaks to see if they could answer some trivia questions. They answered an easy preliminary questi...
