Here's another commercial for that great old-time eatery, White Fence Farm, whose owner and founder, Robert J. Hastert, Jr., died at the age of 73.
Great chicken and corn fritters, and lots of interesting knick-knacks to look at before or after dinner. I have fond memories of going here as a kid. It's definitely a one-of-a-kind experience ...

Oscar Madison of the TV series version of The Odd Couple, and also the title character of Quincy, M.E. that was airing on the NBC network at the time of this segment) describing the various foods served during the holidays, including goose stuffed with dumplings; kugel (a pudding containing noodles, cheese and raisins); latkes (potato pancakes)...
WVTV Channel 18 [Milwaukee, WI] - "Partial EBS Test" (1980)
Here's a partial test of the Emergency Broadcasting System on an unknown station in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. The person was recording some Woody Woodpecker cartoons and although they cut out the commercials they did decide to record most of the EBS test. It's pretty simple, consisting only of a single, rather discolored slide.
Did they have to traumatize kids by airing these tests during cartoons? It seems like they did the same thing in Chicago too from what I recall....

Ah, this one is great on so many levels...the funky bassline, the organ music, the creepy Santa...oh man. Here's a commercial for Dispensa's Castle of Toys in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois on Route 83 and Roosevelt Road.
I probably should have posted this back during Christmas but oh well. I'm sure you'll forgive me.
The only other Dispensa-related commercial we had until this one ...

Here's Santa Claus, shown here holding a book with children gathered around him, promoting a 976 phone number in which Mrs. Claus would speak with children on the phone while he's out delivering toys. Mrs. Claus is heard by voiceover near the end, going on about how busy Santa is.
Disclaimer shown at end: "Call Rates To Downtown Chicago Apply - By Phone Programs, Illinois." Another voiceover (by ??) advises children to get their parents' permission before calling.
