Screaming Yellow Theater (Svengoolie) - "Tina McDowall" (Segment #1-5, 1973)

Here's another segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. By this point, if the clapboard is of any indication, the SYT title had been eschewed in favor of Svengoolie.

This segment (#1-5), with guest Tina McDowall (a Penthouse "Pet of the Year" for 1972), is from Show #60 (according to the clapboard). However, there is no recording...

Here is the terrific "Star Tunnel" version of the ABC Movie opening, which began in Fall of 1981. This is the "ABC Movie Special" version, although the same theme and graphics were used for "The ABC Sunday Night Movie".

Really got you hyped up to see a good flick! :-)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, September 24th 1982.

Here's Part 7 of a Son of Svengoolie Special - "The Worst of Svengoolie" featuring Jonathan Brandmeier ("Johnny B") who had recently joined WLUP FM 98 - The Loop.

This part features Sven and Johnny B showing us some of the listener's costumes, followed by The Worst Monsters - with clips from "The Flesh-Eaters", "Atomic Submarine", "Beast With a Million Eyes", "Curse of the Swamp Creature", "Reptilicus", "Incredible, Two-Headed Transplant", "Yog, Monster From Space", "Invaders...

WFLD Channel 32 - Son Of Svengoolie - "Dracula" (Song & Break #1, 1981)

Just unearthed some more vintage Sven - Here's the song and commercial break from Son of Svengoolie episode #122 showing the original "Dracula" on WFLD Channel 32. This is actually the earliest off-air recording yet found of a Son of Svengoolie episode. (There are earlier bits, but those are from studio masters, or are just promos - not from an off-air episode.) It's too bad more of this stuff hasn't turned up yet.

Unfortunately, the person who recorded the show did it in ...

ABC Tuesday Movie Of The Week (Bumper, 1981)

Here's a bumper for the ABC Tuesday Movie of the Week.

They used this for a long time in the 70s, right? I'm surprised it was still being used as late as this airing. The movie, which ended after midnight, was "Three on a Date".

This aired on local Chicago TV early Wednesday, February 25th 1981.

Screaming Yellow Theater (Svengoolie) - "Show #5" (Closing, 1972)

Here's a segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop.

This is the closing segment from what we assume is still "Show #5". Here Sven sings a parody of "When Your Smiling" and does one of his bedtime stories (poem) with the intro, "Brush your fangs, comb your face, drink your milk before it clots, and bite momma good night..." (a bit which was used again by Rich Koz on S...

WMAQ Channel 5 - Movie 5 (Ending, 1989)

Here's the ending for the Movie 5 presentation on WMAQ Channel 5. (which I believe was the same sequence as the opening) You can see colored footage of old movies and stars such as Charlie Chaplin.

Wasn't this used as the opening for other movie shows in other cities? How old is it? (i.e., when did they first start using it?) Anyone know?

This aired on local Chicago TV early Saturday, January 14th 1989.
