The hosts for this edition are Bob Eubanks and Jayne Kennedy, who promise the best camera views along the parade route so viewers would get as good a view as possible of the floats and the marching bands.

Here's the opening of the Family Classics presentation of When Worlds Collide on WGN Channel 9. Featuring Frazier Thomas as host. (I would have left in more of the movie opening but this is where the recording stopped)

The Family Classics theme song was called "Moviescope" and was a piece of library music composed by Dennis Berry. It was originally released ...

Here's the opening of the Family Classics presentation of Captain Blood (1935) on WGN Channel 9. Hosted by Frazier Thomas.

(opening starts a tiny bit late)

The theme music sounds warbly - I wonder if that was a technical problem at WGN or something with this tape recording. I do not hear the warble after the music ends - can anyone tell?

Here's the opening of the Family Classics presentation of The Canterville Ghost (1944) on WGN Channel 9. (this airing was the last time it appeared on Family Classics)

Hosted by Frazier Thomas.

Preceded by a WGN bumper promo for Fantasy Island featuring Ricardo Montalban. (looking kind of shifty-eyed taking a peek at the cue cards apparently)

Long Chevrolet - "Extra, Extra!" (different version)

RC Cola - "Me and my RC"

WGN Channel 9 - Prime Time Movie - "Song of Bernadette" (Promo, Open, Bumper Excerpts, On-Screen ID & Technical Difficulties Moment, 1979)

Here's some surviving clips (other than the recording of the film itself) from the "Prime Time Movie" broadcast of "Song of Bernadette" (1943), starring Jennifer Jones, on WGN Channel 9. Though not an Easter movie it often aired during or close to the holiday. All the commercial breaks were cut so this is what was left of interest.

Includes: (all voiceovers by Carl Greyson)

A mostly complete promo for the movie (I assume this aired shortly before it began)
