Here's Part 1 of a local music show, Made in Chicago, on WTTW Channel 11. This program (which was also simulcast on WBBM-FM 96.3) was a predecessor to Soundstage which was also produced by the station and aired nationally over PBS. The guests on this (re-run airing) edition were Aliotta-Haynes-Jeremiah (bassist Mitch Aliotta, guitarist Skip Haynes and pianist John Jeremiah) and Bill Quateman.

Here's Part 5 of Fahey Flynn Presents: Seven's Greetings, a Christmas Eve special hosted by the legendary news anchor on WLS Channel 7. This was transferred from the original 2" quad master tape (long since trashed) onto 3/4" Umatic, from which this transfer was made. The show was recorded on Tuesday, December 19th 1972.

Here's another segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. By this point, if the clapboard is of any indication, the SYT title had been eschewed in favor of Svengoolie.

Here's a promo, opening and first commercial break for the Lifeline episode "Dr. Joan E. Hodgman, L.A. Pediatrics/OBGYN" on WMAQ Channel 5. Just from watching this little excerpt you can see that it was an early example of "reality" television. Too bad it didn't stay on the air. Includes:

Here's Part 1 of a demo reel from Abel and Associates, a Hollywood-based production and graphics firm headed by Robert Abel.

This came from a 3/4" Umatic tape that was kept by Cathy Mustari, art director for WFLD Channel 32 from 1974 to the late '80's, from a time when the station was actively shopping for production houses to handle their graphics for opens/closes, bumpers, promos, etc.
