WGN Channel 9 - The Morning Movie - "Sorry, Wrong Number" (Opening, 1975)
Here's some really rare footage - from exactly 35 years old today - the opening to The Morning Movie presentation of "Sorry, Wrong Number" on WGN Channel 9.
This was recorded at Ridgewood High School in Norridge (by whom, has been lost to time) on 3/4" U-matic videotape using the 'ol rabbit ears, and thus unfortunately there is a bit of fuzz at times and the color goes out periodically. Also, due to the age of the tape, portions of the breaks have degraded in quality ...

WFLD Channel 32 - Super Cartoon Sunrise - "Weather Montage Rhapsody" (197?)
Here's a special video in honor of Fuzzy's Four Thousandth - a montage of weather-related bumpers from Super Cartoon Sunrise on WFLD Channel 32, which were preserved on 16mm film. Since the film was silent I created and added a special kooky mix edit of the SCS theme music. I think it's pretty wild - Enjoy. :-)
Here, we see Woody Woodpecker, Fred Flintstone (of The Flintstones), Magilla Gorilla, Popeye, and Tom & Jerry all appearing as they regularly are, and d...
WTTW Channel 11 - Movie Eleven - "Dr. Who" (Opening, 1976)
Here is some amazing, ancient footage that really has no business existing.
;-)
Finally the "classic" Movie Eleven opening from the 70's, complete. Prior to this the only footage I found was a brief snippet of the title card. This was a unique night because they were showing a 4 part episode of Dr. Who, "The Claws of Axos". The showed the episodes back-to-back with a brief intermission between ...

Here's a special and rare treat for the 35th Anniversary of the infamous "Disco Demolition" event! (please excuse the ghosty picture quality and buzzy audio)
Includes:
Part 2 of the TV44 Sports Spotlight with Jim Durham, with the San Diego Chicken (a.k.a. Ted Giannoulas) as guest, as aired on WSNS Channel 44 just before the first game of a proposed doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers that was followed by the infamous "Disco Demolition Night." Inc...
Image Factory - "Demo" (1980?)
Here's a demo reel for Image Factory, Inc., a New York-based graphics and production firm.
This came from a 3/4" Umatic tape that was kept by Cathy Mustari, art director for WFLD Channel 32 from 1974 to the late '80's, from a time when the station was actively shopping for production houses to handle their graphics for opens/closes, bumpers, promos, etc.
Includes:
- Promo for WPLJ 95.5 FM in New York (sister station to the many times once-and-pres...

Here's Part 2 of the final episode of Al Lerner Sports on WSNS Channel 44. Lerner was the station's first sportscaster, and would go on to a long career with such stations as WLS Channel 7, WMAQ Channel 5, WGN Radio 720 and WSCR-AM, as well as being a wrestling announcer. Also featuring a young (and at this point, moustacheless) Tim Weigel, then a sportswriter for the now-defunct Chicago Daily News, who himself would become a familiar face on Chicago television, working for all three n...
