Here's a segment from a program called The Oscar Canales show on WCIU Channel 26 featuring a singer named Harriet Blake.
"On Monday Nights at 9pm WCIU had a series of rotating producers who would produce a monthly special. Oscar Canales was one of those host producers. Oscar was a singer who would always open the show with a song, sometimes singing with his guest. On this particular night his guest was Harriet Blake, another singer. She put on quite a performance and I h...

WFLD Channel 32 - America 2 Night (Bumper Excerpts #1, 1978)
Here's a brief glimpse at a couple commercial bumpers from America 2 Night on WFLD Channel 32 from 1978 - still featuring the Kaiser-era logo.
The first one, before it gets cut off, features the zooming show name and WFLD logo - an effect they used for many years on a variety of shows.
The second one, sounds like it has a special ID voiceover by Martin Mull made specifically for WFLD - sure sounds like his voice to me, anyway.
This aired on local...
WSNS Channel 44 - The Star Spangled Movie - "Dimension 5" (Promo, 1980)
Here's a promo for the 10-13-80 airing of the Star-Spangled Movie presentation of the 1966 film "Dimension 5" on WSNS TV-44. Previous to this we saw a few other glimpses of this bumper movie show - maybe it always aired at 3:30pm on weekdays? Could this help definitively date those other clips?
Voiceover by Don Ferris.
This promo aired on local Chicago TV the second we...
WFLD Channel 32 - Mission: Impossible - "Break!" (Bumper Excerpt, 1977)
Here's something pretty rare and cool, though it's only very brief - an excerpt of a bumper from Mission: Impossible on WFLD Channel 32 during the Kaiser Broadcasting era! If you pause the video near the end you can see a stylized slide of Peter Graves along with the show name and WFLD Kaiser logo.
Rarer than a Hen's tooth, this stuff is. ;-)
This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, April 1st 1977 during the 9pm to 10pm timeframe.
WCIU Channel 26 - The Warren Freiberg Show (Part 2, 1981)
Here's Part 2 of an episode of The Warren Freiberg Show on WCIU Channel 26. In case you weren't familiar with him, Warren Freiberg had some rather "extreme" and "fringe" opinions. He had a radio show, and you may also remember him turning up in little vignettes on Steve Dahl's "It's Too Early" show from 1983.
This part continues Warren and Libby's conversation with self-help expert Sherle Adams (who turns out to be quite ...
WMAQ Channel 5 - Kidding Around - "Kid Contortionist-Acrobat" (1979)
Here's an installment from Kidding Around, a Saturday kids' show that ran from 1978 to 1985 on WMAQ Channel 5.
The main host was Steve Smith (not to be confused with the Canadian comedian of the same name who is best known as outdoorsman Red Green on a long-running TV series, The Red Green Show), and his co-hostess here is Shawn Gourdie (who, at the time, was 13 years old and a seventh-grader at Sudling Junior High in Palatine; a Chicago Tribune piece on the prog...
The Oprah Winfrey Show - "Staff Christmas Talent Show" (Part 4, 1985)
Here's Part 4 of a fairly early episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show - back when they were still producing it in the WLS-TV studios, and when they were still using the old AM Chicago music as the theme. On this day they had a Christmas Talent Show featuring staff members from WLS Channel 7. This part includes:
WLS Engineers Michelle Boone and Rodney Correll rock out as Santa and his elf to "That's Rock'n Roll", and then News Emergency with members David Fell, Steven Perron,...
WFLD Channel 32 - Emergency One (Promo, 1977-78)
Here's a promo for Emergency One (original syndicated title for the 1972-77 series Emergency!) on WFLD Channel 32. This promo, with no voiceover, starts off with the station's then-current "Look At Us!" slogan (with Kaiser-era logo) and shows short segments from various Emergency! episodes.
Since this was from a master tape we can only assume that it would have had a voiceover by Ron Beattie and a super of the WFLD logo and show name at the end, when it ac...
