The transfer of this video clip made possible by your generous donations! Way to Go! Special (Part 7, 1980)
Views: 1759 Here is Part 7 of the Field Communications produced Way to Go! Special - an hour long (compilation?) showcase of some special kids and what they do. Has a lot of nice little slices of late seventies life as a kid. :-) The tape was dated May of 1980. My contact says that only a few of these "Specials" were made. Like I said, I'm not sure if these were compilations of segments shown on the regular Way to Go program, or if they were specifically produced for these specials. I am pretty sure this...
Here are a couple bumper excerpts from the When Movies Were Movies presentation of "The Petrified Forest" (1936) on WGN Channel 9.
This is an early example of the particular "style" of this long-running movie showcase as would be seen in color on this 1979 opening and

Here's a partial commercial break for "A Woman Rebels" on the WLS Late Night Movie. (before the recording cut off) Includes:
WLS Late Night Movie bumper (in Black & White - do they not "switch back over" to color quickly enough? Or is this a recording artifact?) (Notice again the use of the later 3:00 Movie music despite the "Swirling Star" graphics)
Long Chevrolet's Long Tent Sale (Who the heck is this guy? Where's Timmy?)

WFLD Channel 32 - Son Of Svengoolie - "Dracula" (Song & Break #1, 1981)
Just unearthed some more vintage Sven - Here's the song and commercial break from Son of Svengoolie episode #122 showing the original "Dracula" on WFLD Channel 32. This is actually the earliest off-air recording yet found of a Son of Svengoolie episode. (There are earlier bits, but those are from studio masters, or are just promos - not from an off-air episode.) It's too bad more of this stuff hasn't turned up yet.
Unfortunately, the person who recorded the show did it in ...
WCIU Channel 26 - The Ginny Tiu Show (Part 1, 1969)
Here's Part 1 of The Ginny Tiu Show which aired on WCIU Channel 26. Ms. Tiu was a child prodigy pianist whose chief claim to fame was playing by ear and not being able to read a note, and who was a familiar presence on such 1960's TV series as The Ed Sullivan Show, Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall, and a 1966 episode of I've Got a Secret (from Steve Allen's run as host), as well as appearing in the 1962 Elvis Presley film Girls! Girls! Girls! In later years, ...

Dancing Dawn Doll (This time in color!) (incomplete)
Really quick flash of Joel Daly on the WLS Channel 7 news.
Flip to the ending of an episode of Gilligan's Island - if this was 1971 it would be on WGN from 5:30 to 6pm, which fits it with the ending time of the Rifle...
WFLD Channel 32 - The Honeymooners (Ending, 1979)
Here's the ending for an episode of The Honeymooners on WFLD Channel 32. The ending theme and specially created colored picture shot (with "zooming text" at the end - or in this case would that be "bang-zooming text"?) are delayed as a voiceover promo for Happy Days Again is played too early (voiceover by Ron Beattie), and is heard over black for a few seconds before cutting off; then after the extended bumper starts, another Beattie voiceover previews upcoming episodes of S...
