Here's a segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop.

This Break #2 from an unknown episode number features Larry Lujack - "Superjock" disc jockey from (at the time) WLS-AM 890 radio.

I'm thinking that "SYT #1" as the clapboard person says, refers to the fact that it's Movie #1. (2 movies a night were shown for most of the run of SYT)

Way to Go! Special (Part 4, 1980)

Here is Part 4 of the Field Communications produced Way to Go! Special - an hour long (compilation?) showcase of some special kids and what they do. Has a lot of nice little slices of late seventies life as a kid. :-) The tape was dated May of 1980. My contact says that only a few of these "Specials" were made. Like I said, I'm not sure if these were compilations of segments shown on the regular Way to Go program, or if they were specifically produced for these specials. I am pretty sure thi...

Screaming Yellow Theater (Svengoolie) - "Show #5 - Ask Svengoolie" (1972)

Here's a segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop.

With no clapboard segments, we can only guess that this was Break #5 (from "Show #5") - although on these master tapes sometimes they didn't save all of the breaks, so this could be Break #6 or Break #7 for all we know. This one features Ask Svengoolie with a question from the "Scare Mail" bag for that week.

WSNS Channel 44 - The 1 O'Clock Movie - "Gulliver's Travels" (Opening, 1979)

Now for some more neat old TV-44 footage!

Here is the opening to The 1 O'Clock Movie presentation of the animated "Gulliver's Travels" on WSNS. It probably starts about 7 seconds late, but it's mostly complete. We can see some scenes of famous stars and movies interspersed with the graphics - ones I can make out are Cary Grant in some movie and Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel from the film The Producers. And is that a scene from Metropolis?

Unfortunately (w...

Based on a few pieces of evidence, including what was recorded on top of this, there are only four possible dates that this promo could have air...

WFLD Channel 32 - Creature Feature - "The Black Cat" (Tiny Opening Excerpt, 1979)

Blink, and you'll miss it!

Here is an extreme rarity - a painfully small excerpt from the opening of WFLD Channel 32's Creature Feature program. This was the program that was replaced by Son of Svengoolie in Summer of 1979.

If you pause the video at the right spot you can see a fairly clear shot of the opening title. You can make out a smokey graveyard type atmosphere with a black crow or raven perched on a tree branch to the right and a coffin in the foregro...
