WFLD Channel 32 - Keyfax Nite-Owl Service - "A Nite-Owl New Year" (Part 3, 1982)

At long last! More Nite-Owl footage! (The first "new" Nite-Owl footage found for over 10 years!) Picture's a bit fuzzy, but of course we can't be picky.

Here is Part 3 (the last part) of footage from a Nite-Owl New Year's "Special". Unfortunately, the tape ran out. :-(

This part aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, January 1st 1982 from about 4:13am to 4:22am.

WMAQ Channel 5 - NewsFive With Floyd Kalber (Bumper Promo, 1975)

Here's a quick bumper promo for NewsFive with "The Big Tuna" Floyd Kalber back when he worked at WMAQ Channel 5 - before his long tenure with WLS.

Story preview involves a Chicago dentist who was accused of killing two west-side druggists.

Also includes a bumper slide at the end for Chicago area Environmental Protection Agencies - "Bunch Up!" (voiceover by Ed Grennan)

(clip has reception problems, but hey...early 1975)

This aired on ...

KOCO Channel 5 - Lunch With Ho Ho (Promo #2, 1965)

Here is a promo for "Lunch With Ho-Ho" on KOCO-TV Channel 5 in Oklahoma City. This was a children's program featuring HoHo the Clown (played by Ed Birchall) and Pokey the Puppet (played by Bill Howard, the station's long-time stage manager wearing a sock-puppet on his arm).

We can probably assume that this was recorded at the same session as the first promo, i.e., on Wednesday, August 11th 1965. The Director was "Thrash" with Camera by "Rose and Waters".

WFLD Channel 32 - Casper (Commercial Break #1, 1979)

At long last! Another rare WFLD cartoon break! This is in fact, the oldest ever found! And it even has another lost Snipets segment! Includes:

WFLD Casper bumper (dig that funky music!)

Candi - doll for girls by Mego

McDonald's - "The Land of McDonald's Sundaes"

WFLD Spiderman promo (Dr. Don voiceover) - "Today at 4:30"

Snipets - Fireman (with Jerry Overstreet)

WKBD Channel 50 - Star Trek (Bumper #1, 1977)

Here's a neat early bumper for Star Trek on one of WFLD's sister stations - WKBD Channel 50 in Detroit. They didn't have any voiceovers or music - none of the others during the episode had them either. Star Trek fans were all business. ;-)

Since this aired so early in the year, I'm pretty sure this bumper design was also used in 1976 and maybe since the beginning of WKBD's airing of Star Trek re-runs? In other words, this is likely the very first bumper design in a long his...

Here's Part 3 of Fahey Flynn Presents: Seven's Greetings, a Christmas Eve special hosted by the legendary news anchor on WLS Channel 7. This was transferred from the original 2" quad master tape (long since trashed) onto 3/4" Umatic, from which this transfer was made. The show was recorded on Tuesday, December 19th 1972.

Featured in this part are Ione (Rolnick) from Prize Movie, anchor John Drury, and weatherman John Coleman - oh yes, and also Suzy Streetnoise, a...
