Relevant Factoid: Son of Svengoolie loved to use her name as a punchline many times, especially in the early years of the show.

This aired on local Chicago TV early Tuesday, February 20th ...

Here's an early color commercial (albeit incomplete) for Wrigley's Doublemint Gum, with Tommy and Joy, backed by a full orchestra, singing the famous "Double Your Pleasure" jingle. The tape cuts out midway through this ad.

The "Tommy" would appear to be the late singer and actor Tommy Leonetti (who was a cast member of the series Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. during its first season in 1964-65); can any of our Fuzzy experts advise who "Joy" was?

This aired on loca...

Here's a curious early commercial for "The Loop", WLUP FM 98 (97.9) featuring DJ Tom O'Toole. (still a jock at 94.7 WLS FM!)

Historical background courtesy ChicagolandRadioAndMedia.com - "O'Toole was the station's first-ever morning show host and first host heard on-air for the iconic rock station. O'Toole personally selected and played WLUP-FM's first-ever song to be broadcast on the station, "Morning Has Broken" by Cat Stevens. He later shifted to afternoons on The Loop."

Fox Valley Center is now known as just Fox Valley Mall, and was formerly Westfield Fox Valley.

Two later commercials for this mall, both from 1983, can be found

WKBD Channel 50 - Star Trek (Bumper #1, 1977)

Here's a neat early bumper for Star Trek on one of WFLD's sister stations - WKBD Channel 50 in Detroit. They didn't have any voiceovers or music - none of the others during the episode had them either. Star Trek fans were all business. ;-)

Since this aired so early in the year, I'm pretty sure this bumper design was also used in 1976 and maybe since the beginning of WKBD's airing of Star Trek re-runs? In other words, this is likely the very first bumper design in a long his...
