Last Monster Rally Movie Clip!!! :-( Let's hope we can find some more!
Here's one of the few glimpses yet found of a show that a lot of people remember and have requested footage of - Monster Rally Movie! This aired on WSNS Channel 44 and reportedly had it's own host - a mysterious figure in a creepy costume. Here we get to see another partial commercial bumper from the show - the only type of footage (other than the movie itself) known to exist currently. The movie this ...

Here is some neat raw footage - Take #1 of the opening for Monster Rally Movie This take was not used and differs slightly from the final version chosen (along with missing the post production color effects and titles) ON TV/WFLD Channel 32 - ON TV Sign-Off & Nite-Owl Bleed-Thru (1981)
Views: 5700 Ok, here's something kind of nuts, but I thought some people might want to see it anyway. Here's the ending of Apocalypse Now and then the station sign-off for ON TV on WSNS Channel 44. Once the station goes off the air, you can just barely make out the "bleed through" of WFLD Channel 32's signal where they were airing Nite-Owl!
The host of Monster Rally Movie, seen here, was John Dickinson. He had a number of behind-the-scenes jobs at the station, including being the director of
At various times throughout this I can make out "Weather Update" (with a Sun graphic, the Nite-Owl logo, the Keyfax "key" at the top left of...

Here's a promo for WSNS Channel 44's Good Time Bunch club, with hosts Brian (Vandenbroucke) and Mary Pat (Byrne) presiding over the third drawing for prizes for children ages 2-13 who are members of the club, and for those who aren't they can send in their names and addresses to join (alas, employees of Channel 44, Chase/Ehrenberg, and their families aren't eligible). The membership kit consisted of a Good Time Bunch membership card, stickers, TV schedule, and a 6-inch machine-...
Emergency Broadcast System Test (Tiny Excerpt, 1977)

Here's a clip that's very short but also very rare. On the 1977 WSNS tape, between the two episodes of Superman there was a quick switch to something that might have been recorded previously - a small excerpt of an Emergency Broadcast System test. You can see the slide used for it and make out a word or two of the announcement "Broadcasters...(in your area, probably)"
Slide says: "Emergency Broadcast System - Official Government Information - Civil Defense Instructions"

Here's a special and rare treat for the 35th Anniversary of the infamous "Disco Demolition" event! (please excuse the ghosty picture quality and buzzy audio)
Includes:
Part 1 of the TV44 Sports Spotlight with Jim Durham, with the San Diego Chicken (a.k.a. Ted Giannoulas) as guest, as aired on WSNS Channel 44 just before the first game of a proposed doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers that was followed by the infamous "Disco Demolition Night." Inc...

WSNS Channel 44 - Monster Rally Movie (Bumper Excerpt, 197?)

Here's something pretty rare - an (unfortunately) partial bumper for the Monster Rally Movie - this one being the first glimpse of one that we've seen with the spooky voiceover announcer - "...on 44..." (it doesn't sound like the "host" of Monster Rally Movie, John Dickinson (seen here in the taped opening segment) could it be Don Ferris doing a scary voice?)
Also includes a snippet of a couple "Community...
