Here's a commercial for Jewel Food Stores about a girl who shops with her Mom to make her Dad a meal all by herself.
Features Shannon Grimes (now Shannon Bobillo) as the little girl.
As her husband Patrick recounts, "She and her sister did some modeling for print-ads and a bit of commercial acting just for fun when they were kids. They enjoyed it but both gave it up when they started high school and, apart from roles in school plays, neither pursued acting aft...
WFLD Channel 32 - Afternoon Fun - "The Banana Splits" (Promo, 1982)
Just unearthed from a Umatic tape today! Here's the only Banana Splits footage from WFLD yet found - a promo (about 95% complete) during a presentation of the Monkees on Lunchtime Fun. They were on at 3:30pm during this time.
Just for the heck of it I also left in the Monkees bumper at the end.
If I'm not mistaken, this was during the last few months of the Banana Splits' run on WFLD.
Voiceover by Dr. Don.
This aired on local Chica...
WGN Channel 9 - Give Me Liberty - "Aural Difficulties" (1975?)
Here's a segment from the made-for-TV movie "Give Me Liberty".
This clip is interesting because it contains a technical difficulties moment when the station lost the sound for the network feed and printed on the screen "Lost Network Sound. Please stand by."
At about the one minute mark and again at the 2 minute 43 second mark you hear two different announcers respectively, who are they? I think I have a clue but I'll let you guys guess.
"Our soun...
WGN Channel 9 - Garfield Goose And Friends (Break & Ending, 1975)
Here's a first - the first off-air recording of Garfield Goose and Friends that has ever been found (to my knowledge). Considering the program went off the air in 1976, this is not entirely surprising. (Some apparently erroneous TV listings had it showing again for short periods around 1982, but those have never been shown to be accurate)
This recording was ostensibly made for The Morning Movie presentation of "Sorry, Wrong Number" but luckily for us they started tapin...
