Here is yet another version of the Way to Go! program produced by Field Communications - this one hosted by none other than Doctor Donald D. Rose (Dr. Don!). He of course was the voiceover guy for kid's programs on Field Stations including Super Cartoon Sunrise, Lunchtime Fun, and Afternoon Fun - which included shows such as Woody Woodpecker, Popeye, Tom & Jerry, The Flintstones, The Banana Splits, The Great Space Coaster, The Little Rascals, etc...

Star Wars Droid Factory by Kenner (Commercial, 1979)
Here's a commercial for the Star Wars Droid Factory by Kenner. A "non-canon" toy that was a bit of a rare oddity back then since there was no "droid factory" in the original movie. Notable for allowing you to make an R2-D2 that actually looks like R2 (more so than the actual action figure) since it includes Artoo's middle extendable leg.
Voiceover by Norman Rose.
This aired on local Kansas City TV on Saturday, December 29th 1979. (1977 Copyright, Twentiet...
WMAQ Channel 5 - "Late Night Saturday" (Promo, 1980)
Here is an NBC promo for the Late Night Saturday line-up on WMAQ Channel 5. After Saturday Night Live, it was SCTV at 12 Midnight, Sha-Na-Na at 12:30am, The Guinness Game at 1am, and finally Tales of the Unexpected at 1:30am.
Voiceover by Garry Meier (verified by Rob Hart - "He says they were taping the Steve & Garry special "Not for Midgets Only" when the Channel 5 people asked him to record a couple of promos.")

WFLD Channel 32 - Chicago Black Hawks Vs. Boston Bruins (Excerpts, 1976)
Here are some selected excerpts of the Chicago Black Hawks / Boston Bruins game on WFLD Channel 32, played at Boston Garden in Boston, MA. This was from an original 2" Quad master tape, and though the "recorded date" says 3-31-76, this game was broadcast on 3-25-76. I think someone, perhaps Don Shannon (who directed this telecast) made this compilation of excerpts from the original tape(s) on the 31st (or perhaps it was done live? That wouldn't account for the 3-31-76 date though) In any ...

This clip made possible by the donations from our generous group of "Fuzzketeers" during the Spring 2012 Tape Transfer Fundraiser.
Here's Part 3 of the Illinois State Lottery's Super Shot program on WSNS Channel 44. This was the Lottery's basketball-related game (the "Super Shot" signified hitting a basket). The hosts were Bob Hale and Sandie Wolsfeld. Includes:

Hostess Snacks - "Win a Solid Gold Twinkie!" (Commercial, 1981)
Here's another vintage commercial for Hostess Snacks - Twinkies, Fruit Pies (with real filling!) (and real saturated fat!), and Cup Cakes - featuring a contest to win a $50,000 Solid Gold Twinkie cake. Wow, I wonder if the person who won it still has it. Gold has gone up I think, so I wonder how much it would be worth now.
(this commercial is a shortened version of one I already posted)

Grapes - The Natural Snack [Monster] (Commercial, 1979)
Here's a commercial for grapes, featuring a "snack monster" holding various sugar-coated foods (chocolate cakes with white frosting, ice cream cones, chocolate bars) and asking a little girl what's in grapes (no chocolate coverings, frosting, or preservatives), and finally venturing that "there's a game in here." A reference to the holiday season is mentioned at the end of this spot.
Is there an exact Alice in Wonderland reference in here that I'm not getting? Or is it...
WSNS Channel 44 - The Money Movie - "China Gate" (Break #1, 1979)
Here's some rare footage from another long-lost local movie show - "The Money Movie" on WSNS TV-44! The movie presented on this day was "China Gate". TMM was similar in concept to Dialing for Dollars. Viewers (mostly lonely housewives and old people from what it sounds like) would send in post cards with their name and phone number, and the host would call them live on the air during the movie breaks to see if they could answer some trivia questions. They answered an easy preliminary ques...

Here's a special and rare treat for the 35th Anniversary of the infamous "Disco Demolition" event! (please excuse the ghosty picture quality and buzzy audio)
Includes:
Part 4 (the final part) of the TV44 Sports Spotlight with Jim Durham, with the San Diego Chicken (a.k.a. Ted Giannoulas) as guest, as aired on WSNS Channel 44 just before the first game of a proposed doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers that was followed by the infamous "Disco Demoli...
