WFLD Channel 32 - M*A*S*H (Bumper #2, 1980)

Here's bumper number 2 for M*A*S*H on WFLD Channel 32.

Anyone know what the music is? Sounds kind of like Bob James doing a version of the Mash theme.

They later moved away from this and used music straight from the show for their bumpers.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Tuesday, February 26th 1980.

WFLD Channel 32 - The WFLD Mystery Man Contest - "Hat" (1980)

Here's a neat clip for a contest WFLD Channel 32 had called WFLD Mystery Man - where you would have to identify which cartoon character certain features of the "Mystery Man" was made up of. 3 out of 5 correctly identified pieces wins. One piece was revealed each day. The one show here is the Mystery Man's hat - whose is it? Special bonus clue every day between 5 and 6:30!

You could win prizes such as a $100 Toys-R-Us gift certificate, one of 90 $10 Toys-R-Us gift certificat...

WFLD Channel 32 - Lunchtime Fun (Ending Excerpt, 1983)

Here is a brief excerpt from the ending for Lunchtime Fun on WFLD Channel 32. You can hear Dr. Don's voiceover and the funky music, which was used for a number of programs/promos on WFLD at the time. He's referencing a show on at 2:30, so based on TV Guides from the time period, this was Casper, which aired at that time in February 1983.

This aired on local Chicago TV Friday, February 11th 1983 @ about 1pm! (right before I Love Lucy began)

WLS Channel 7 - Hot Fudge Show (Excerpt, 1980?)

Here is a small excerpt from the Hot Fudge Show as aired on WLS Channel 7. This is all I found - wish there was more, but at least you get to hear a little of the theme song.

This show aired on WFLD Channel 32, WLS Channel 7, and at one point WSNS Channel 44.

Hot Fudge bumper voiceover by Janice Kos

Not sure when this was recorded exactly; the only clue is the Honeycomb cereal commercial at the end, which is why I placed this at around 1980.

WFLD Channel 32 - The BJ & Dirty Dragon Show (Part 2, 1972)

Here's Part 2 of a rare surviving edition of Bill Jackson's The BJ & Dirty Dragon Show on WFLD Channel 32. This was from the original 2" quadruplex master tape. Includes:

Segment starting off with Weird heading towards an old house that he hadn't been to for centuries, and Dr. Doompuss following in hot pursuit. This leads into B.J. with magic marker in hand, with another "Whozit" game in which he is pondering which cartoon character within comics, films and TV will be...

Son of Svengoolie - "3-D Quiz" (Break #4, Show #158, 1982)

Here's Break #4 - the last one (incomplete unfortunately, and I don't have the ending) from the Son of Svengoolie presentation of "Revenge of the Creature" in 3-D. This was show #158.

(Commercials were also unfortunately cut out by the person who recorded this)

This aired at around 8pm on Thursday, July 29th 1982.

WFLD Channel 32 - Son of Svengoolie - "3-D Movie Excerpt & On-Screen ID" (1982)

Here's an excerpt from the Son of Svengoolie presentation of "Revenge of the Creature" in 3-D. This was show #158. (Also includes a WFLD 32 On-screen station ID)

Some have said that this scene was the most effective at conveying 3D. I'd have to agree - the fish swimming by in particular look like they're in the foreground even without the glasses on. :-)

This aired at around 8pm on Thursday, July 29th 1982.

Screaming Yellow Theater (Svengoolie) - "Tina McDowall" - Puppet Show (Segment #2-1, 1973)

Here's another segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. By this point, if the clapboard is of any indication, the SYT title had been eschewed in favor of Svengoolie.

This segment (#2-1) is from Show #60 (according to the clapboard). However, there is no recording date.

This segment consists of a puppet show involving the ...

Dirty Dragon Roars Back To Life!

Unearthed from a 2" Quadruplex videotape stashed away and nearly forgotten, and with a beautiful direct-to-digital transfer financed by donations, The Museum of Classic Chicago Television (www.FuzzyMemories.TV) is proud to present this "lost" episode, which has not been seen publically since it originally aired on WFLD-TV forty years ago!

Here's Part 1 of a rare surviving edition of Bill Jackson's The BJ ...
