WFLD Channel 32 - The Three Stooges (Color Bumper #2, 1981?)

Here is another COLOR bumper (same one) for The Three Stooges on WFLD Channel 32.

Same bumper, but has a little snippet at the end of a lost animated Eckrich Farms commercial.

Based on the small snippet of the MCI Commercial at the end of this clip, I'd say this was probably from 1981. (The same MCI commercial can be found here in a commercial break for AM Chicago from 1981.)

The music during the bumper is "Knock Knock" by Spike Jones.

WKBD Channel 50 - Star Trek (Bumper #1, 1977)

Here's a neat early bumper for Star Trek on one of WFLD's sister stations - WKBD Channel 50 in Detroit. They didn't have any voiceovers or music - none of the others during the episode had them either. Star Trek fans were all business. ;-)

Since this aired so early in the year, I'm pretty sure this bumper design was also used in 1976 and maybe since the beginning of WKBD's airing of Star Trek re-runs? In other words, this is likely the very first bumper design in a long his...

Here is a COLOR bumper for The Three Stooges on WFLD Channel 32.

This dates to about 1981 I'd say.

The commercial snippet at the end of this clip is from a 1981 Juicy Fruit Gum TV commercial featuring the jingle sung by the late R&B singer Luther Vandross.

The music during the bumper is "Knock Knock" by Spike Jones.

WFLD Channel 32 - The Best of Groucho (Bumper #1, 1979)

Here's a bumper for The Best of Groucho on WFLD Channel 32. No "zooming text" here, but the text (in dark brown type) does come up over cigar smoke billowing from a version of the image of Groucho Marx as from the cover of his 1972 A&M album An Evening with Groucho. This bumper uses the middle section of the opening and closing theme, "Hooray for Captain Spaulding."

This aired on local Chicago TV on Sunday, November 4th 1979 during the 9:30pm to 10pm timeframe.

WFLD Channel 32 - Six O'Clock Movie (Bumper, 1981)

Here's a very cool and colorful, psychedelic-style bumper for the WFLD Channel 32 Six O'Clock Movie. This was the older version, which was updated to a newer one at least by August 1982 as seen here.

Music used in this bumper is "K-Jee" by MFSB.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Sunday, April 26th 1981.

WGN Channel 9 - "Happy Thanksgiving Day" (Partial Bumper, 1978)

Here's a quick flash of a partial Thanksgiving Day bumper on WGN Channel 9 that aired immediately following the ending credits of "The Flying Deuces" starring Laurel and Hardy. The logo shown would pinpoint the origin of this bumper to earlier in the decade.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Thursday, November 23rd 1978 at 4:30pm.

WFLD Channel 32 - Super Cartoon Sunrise - "Popeye" (Bumper, 1984)

Here is a bumper for Popeye on Super Cartoon Sunrise on WFLD Channel 32.

Voiceover by Jeff Lupetin - "Now back to Popeye..."

Couple interesting things about this bumper - First of all, for some reason they use the old style WFLD 32 logo from the Field days. This is different from the other ones. Secondly, the animation is more pronounced in this version - look at the "sparkle" effects on the 32 logo and around the clock box. This wasn't seen in the other bump...
