WKBD Channel 50 - "Kaiser To Field Notice" (1977)

Here's a neat historical clip, even though it's not from Chicago. It's a public notice on WKBD Channel 50 announcing the sale of the Kaiser Broadcasting station to Field Communications.

Kaiser Broadcasting Company and Field Communications Corporation, filed with the Federal Communications Commission on March 16th 1977, an application seeking approval of the assignment of the license of WKBD-TV Channel 50 Detroit from Kaiser Broadcasting Company to Field Communications Corpo...

The Lost Snipets - "Homework Now!" (A FuzzyMemories Re-Creation)

I had some additional Snipets segments but they were transferred from 16mm film and did not have the opening and closing on them. So, I did a little editing job and added them in. This was an early one, circa 1975. I found something cool to add to this - the circa 1975 title for Snipets, during the Kaiser Broadcasting era! Notice it is a little different from the Field era one that took over in 1977. Enjoy.

This one features an Art-Clokey-esque stop-film animation o...

WFLD Channel 32 - Fernwood 2 Night (Ending #1, 1977)

Here's a small but juicy rarity - the ending credits for the first airing of Fernwood 2 Night on WFLD Channel 32 - back in the Kaiser Broadcasting era!

You can hear 32's staff announcer tell you that "All That Glitters" (a short-lived Norman Lear series) was next, as well as a tiny snippet of an old WFLD station ID.

I think the announcer may be 32's Bud Kelly - who was the main staff announcer until Ron Beattie took over a year or so later. It certainly doesn't ...

WFLD Channel 32 - America 2 Night (Bumper Excerpt #3 & Ending, 1978)

Here's a brief glimpse at a couple commercial bumpers from America 2 Night on WFLD Channel 32 from 1978 - the waning months of the Kaiser era!

This one is also very quick - but you can see it features Fred Willard.

I included the end credits of the show too (no 32 voiceover unfortunately) because there is a little snippet of a commercial that followed immediately after (no Station ID?) - for The Children's Photographer. Is that Bud Kelly again doing the live rea...

This aired on local Chicago TV on Wednesday, July 13th 1977.

WFLD Channel 32 - Mission: Impossible - "Break!" (Opening, 1977)

Here's another cool find - the opening to Mission: Impossible on WFLD Channel 32 from back in the Kaiser Broadcasting days! Includes an almost complete station ID at the beginning (voiceover by Bud Kelly) that features a black and red color scheme - different than the black and blue one we saw on another WFLD Kaiser ID.

The episode on this night was "Break!"

You can hear the ending of the t...
