Here is another Station ID in Spanish for WCIU Channel 26 this time showing scenes of a fountain.

Music used is "While You See a Chance" by Steve Winwood.

Not sure when they used this ID, but 1982 seems a good estimate.

Here's a series of promos by Johnny Carson for The Tonight Show on WMAQ Channel 5, transferred from the original 2" quad master tape.

The first (designated "PR-1040 CARSON :10's - TAKE 1") is a promo for the show to air at 10:30pm following NewsCenter5 with Ron Hunter; on the second ("TAKE 2"), Johnny thanks viewers for watching the show over "the past 13-1/2 years"; the third ("TAKE 3") advises viewers to watch or "the Bird of Paradise will fly up your nose"; a...

Here's a test of the Emergency Broadcast System from ABC affiliate WFAA Channel 8 in Dallas, TX. This test goes off without a hitch, as the requisite dual tones of 853 and 960 Hz are heard for 23 seconds.

Voiceover by ?? (with the EBS script displayed on screen via different slides, set in Helvetica Medium; albeit differing in some areas from how the voiceover read the script).

WGN Channel 9 - Prime Time Movie - "Song of Bernadette" (Promo, Open, Bumper Excerpts, On-Screen ID & Technical Difficulties Moment, 1979)

Here's some surviving clips (other than the recording of the film itself) from the "Prime Time Movie" broadcast of "Song of Bernadette" (1943), starring Jennifer Jones, on WGN Channel 9. Though not an Easter movie it often aired during or close to the holiday. All the commercial breaks were cut so this is what was left of interest.

Includes: (all voiceovers by Carl Greyson)

A mostly complete promo for the movie (I assume this aired shortly before it began)

Anyone know where the music originates from? Kraftwerk?

This aired on local Chicago TV on Tuesday, June 17th 1975 at about 7:44pm.

ON TV - Alien (On-Screen ID, 1981)

Here's another ON TV on-screen station ID - during the movie Alien - the scene where they find the fossilized "space jockey" in the derelict vessel. (I've heard that the Alien prequel currently being worked on will reveal the backstory to this thing and what the heck it was)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Saturday, May 2nd 1981.

Svengoolie/Son of Svengoolie - Assorted Clips Compilation (Part 1)

Here is Part 1 of a compilation of assorted Son of Svengoolie (and in turn, the original Svengoolie) clips. I did not make this compilation - it has been floating around the trading circles for a long time, and this is the best copy I've been able to find. It has some neat clips you will not see anywhere else. It's labeled "Son of Svengoolie - 1979 to 1983 - Clips" in a crude computer generated font - again, I did not produce any of this.

Way to Go! Special (Part 8 - Final One, 1980)

Here is the eighth and final part of the Field Communications produced Way to Go! Special - an hour long (compilation?) showcase of some special kids and what they do. Has a lot of nice little slices of late seventies life as a kid. :-) The tape was dated May of 1980. My contact says that only a few of these "Specials" were made. Like I said, I'm not sure if these were compilations of segments shown on the regular Way to Go program, or if they were specifically produced for these specials. I ...
