Courtesy Home Furnishings - "Hotdog Catastrophe" (Commercial, 197?)
Here's a commercial from Courtesy Home Furnishings that many people seem to remember, spotlighting their line of Durafab (a "miracle" plastic fabric that looks like fine cloth slipcovers and could be washed with soap and sponge).
An example of its durability is at the start of this commercial with two kids sparring while sitting on a couch with Durafab, and a hot dog on a bun with mustard and ketchup barely rolls over onto the couch, apparently ruining the couch if it were no...
WPWR Channel 50 - "Off The Air Testing" (1990?)
Here's something probably not very interesting unless you like color bars and static - found this at the end of a tape long after a movie had finished and the station was off the air for the night - looks like they were doing some sort of testing - picture goes from a strange color bars with a black square in the middle, to static, then a Station ID slide, then more static and then the color bars again. This went on for a long time but this is the most exciting 6 minutes of it. ;-)

Here is a really brief station sign-off from WFLD Channel 32. We see the ending of a Ma & Pa Kettle movie (Ma & Pa Kettle at Home, based on the cast), Latenight 32 ending (with the circa 1984 Metromedia-era logo), the Fox 32 logo animation, and a quick cut to color bars with date and time. No national anthem or anything - must have been too late. zzzzzzz

Aldi Foods (Partial Commercial, 1980?)
Here's an incomplete commercial (missing first 10 seconds I believe) for Aldi Foods (we also called it Aldi's) but I include it here because it has some neat shots of Chicago-suburbs bungelow-style houses. Parts of it almost look like it could have been on my block back about 30 years ago.
Featuring actress Margaret Travolta as the wife, and actor Robert J. ("Bob") Jones as the husband.
Notes: Margaret Travolta is the Sister of Actor John Travolta and has appear...

The Day After - "Reagan Impersonator Segment" (1983)
Here is a segment from The Day After on WLS Channel 7 - an ABC Theater telemovie about the effects of a full-scale nuclear attack on the United States. Features someone doing a passable Ronald Reagan impersonation as the President addressing the nation after the nuclear war. This part was changed to a different voiceover for future releases due to complaints. As IMDB.com states:
"When originally televised, the Presidential speech via radio was delivered by a voice acto...
