Another hard-to-find one bites the dust! Here's the opening for The Late Movie on WGN Channel 9 presenting "Three Faces West". This is the long-running opening which used unique "kaleidoscope" artwork and a soundtrack of "Take Five" by Dave Brubek. This opening was used for many years throughout the 1970's.

Also includes a "Last Farewell" Station ID at the beginning (Annouced by Jerry Golden) and the first commercial spot before the movie began - Bert Weinman - Your TV Ford ...

Here's some surviving clips (other than the recording of the film itself) from the "Prime Time Movie" broadcast of "Song of Bernadette" (1943), starring Jennifer Jones, on WGN Channel 9. Though not an Easter movie it often aired during or close to the holiday. All the commercial breaks were cut so this is what was left of interest.

Here's some rare footage from another long-lost local movie show - "The Money Movie" on WSNS TV-44! TMM was similar in concept to Dialing for Dollars. Viewers (mostly lonely housewives and old people from what it sounds like) would send in post cards with their name and phone number, and the host would call them live on the air during the movie breaks to see if they could answer some trivia questions. Here's a segment from episode number 125 of Son of Svengoolie, airing the film "Destroy All Planets", and featuring home movies and pictures from the State Street Christmas parade - with dialogue amusingly sped-up by Sven. The woman doing it is named Susan Uyeda, who was an artist that worked on Son of Svengoolie.
