Here is the opening for the WFLD Channel 32 Late Late Double Feature. On this night the movies were Charlie Chaplin in "The Funniest Man in the World" followed by Errol Flynn in "Mara Maru".

The animation seems very reminiscent of PM Magazine's opening.
