WSNS Channel 44 - The Money Movie - "China Gate" (Break #4, 1979)
Here's some rare footage from another long-lost local movie show - "The Money Movie" on WSNS TV-44! The movie presented on this day was "China Gate". TMM was similar in concept to Dialing for Dollars. Viewers (mostly lonely housewives and old people from what it sounds like) would send in post cards with their name and phone number, and the host would call them live on the air during the movie breaks to see if they could answer some trivia questions. They answered an easy preliminary questi...

Here's a segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop.
This is the closing segment from what we assume is still "Show #5". Here Sven sings a parody of "When Your Smiling" and does one of his bedtime stories (poem) with the intro, "Brush your fangs, comb your face, drink your milk before it clots, and bite momma good night..." (a bit which was used again by Rich Koz on S...

Finally! Here's the (mostly complete) opening for The All-Electric Magik Lantern Moving Picture Show on WBBM Channel 2. This showcase ran on early Monday mornings starting in September 1971 and lasted until September 27th 1982, replaced (as were the Tuesday through Friday morning airings of The Late Show) by CBS News Nightwatch (predecessor to today's Up to the Minute). Any word on what was the synth-heavy theme for this memorable movie umbrella would be appreci...

Here's another example of a bumper from "The All Electric Magik Lantern Moving Picture Show" - which was what WBBM Channel 2 called their Late Late Movie. On this night the presentation was "Land of the Pharaohs".
You can hear they used an excerpt from a piece of classical music during the bumpers - anyone know what it is?
This aired on local Chicago TV early Monday, December 18th 1978.
