WLS Channel 7 - "The Original 3:30 (4:30) Movie Opening!" (1969-1973?)

Ok, I couldn't resist doing a little "photoshop job" on the 4:30 Movie logo to make it look like 3:30. ;-) But this is still a significant find - the original opening to the ABC 4:30 Movie in New York (which apparently was exactly the same as the WLS 3:30 Movie here in Chicago, except with the title changed)

My thanks to YouTuber mazinz2 (Doug) for discovering this, and for generously donating a copy of the ...

WTTW Channel 11 - "Its A Wonderful Pledge" (1987)

Here is a hilarious and creative parody piece combining the ethos of Pledge Breaks with the classic film, "It's a Wonderful Life".

Former WTTW staffer and Emmy-award-winning producer Rick Kotrba recalls, "It was originally produced in December 1986 for party festivities at the WTTW studios. I was the writer/creator. The technician who recorded the sound and edited the video was Harvey Moshman.

In March 1987, this abridged version was created for broadc...

Star Wars Imperial Troop Transporter by Kenner (Commercial, 1980)

Here's a commercial for the Star Wars Imperial Troop Transport by Kenner. Can fit a Storm Trooper action figure inside (sold separately, of course). Makes all of six sounds including cannon firing, the voice of C3P0 asking where R2D2 is, and R2's response. Notice the reference to a "stun gun" - years before such a term became associated with a real-life weapon used by police.

This airing fell a few months prior to the release of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Pile On (Commercial, 1980)

Here's an extra-fuzzy commercial for the kid's game Pile On by Hasbro. Sort of a Jenga for the jungle gym set.

Best quality copy of this I've found so far.

This aired on local Chicago TV in either May or June of 1980.

WLS Channel 7 - 30th Anniversary Special (Part 3, 1978)

Here's Part 3 of WLS Channel 7's 30th Anniversary Special, broadcast from Chicago's Park West and hosted by Eyewitness News anchors Fahey Flynn and Joel Daly.

This part includes:

Joel opening this segment by giving a shout-out to Jim Moran "The Courtesy Man," Marty Faye, Jim Conway, "Mr. Chicago" Irv Kupcinet, Norman Ross and Sandi Freeman, each of whom take their respective bows; Fahey then quips that Moran was "the only commercial spokesman to apo...

Here's a classic commercial - so many quotable lines in this one - for the game Operation from Milton Bradley.

This aired on local Chicago TV during the third week of March 1982.
