Here's another early commercial for Empire Carpets, featuring Lynn Hauldren as the Empire Carpet Man, installing a carpet for a Mr. Kimstead who'd just gotten the idea to have carpets installed for $6.95 a yard just three days before, doesn't have to make an installment payment for 60 days, and got a free Bissell rug shampooer after buying two rooms of carpeting - but has constant trouble remembering the name and phone number. With the now-famous "588-2300" jingle at the end.

Here are some selected excerpts of the Chicago Black Hawks / Boston Bruins game on WFLD Channel 32, played at Boston Garden in Boston, MA. This was from an original 2" Quad master tape, and though the "recorded date" says 3-31-76, this game was broadcast on 3-25-76. I think someone, perhaps Don Shannon (who directed this telecast) made this compilation of excerpts from the original tape(s) on the 31st (or perhaps it was done live? Here's a short 10 second spot for the Oak Park Village Mall. Remember this? When they blocked off Lake Street and created an outdoor "mall" much in the way they did with State Street?

This was produced at WFLD Channel 32 during the Kaiser Broadcasting Company days, and was directed by Don Shannon. It was recorded on 6-30-76.

Voiceover by Dave Martin, who was WCFL's program director at the time. He later held the same job at WCLR, and voiced this commercial, too.
