WFLD Channel 32 - Tic Tac Dough - "Screwy Voiceover" (Bumper Promo, 1980)

Here's a bumper promo for Tic Tac Dough on WFLD Channel 32. The Jim Barton voiceover started late and so we get to hear more of the background Field Communications music than usual.

They also screwed up because Tic Tac Dough wasn't next, Joker's Wild was. (with no Newscene update)

Mercifully, they then cut the whole thing off.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, October 27th 1980 at 7:30pm.

The transfer of this video clip made possible by your generous donations!

Here's a test of the Emergency Broadcast System (EBS) as broadcast on WGN Channel 9.

If the tone sounds off to you, it's because they screwed-up and only used the 853 Hz tone, instead of a combo of 853 and 960 Hz, as required.

Voiceover by Merri Dee.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Thursday, April 10th 1980 during the 12:00pm to 1pm timeframe.

Here's some surviving clips (other than the recording of the film itself) from the "Prime Time Movie" broadcast of "Song of Bernadette" (1943), starring Jennifer Jones, on WGN Channel 9. Though not an Easter movie it often aired during or close to the holiday. All the commercial breaks were cut so this is what was left of interest.

Includes: (all voiceovers by Carl Greyson)

A mostly complete promo for the movie (I assume this aired shortly before it began)

Here you get a FuzzyMemories Two-fer: an historical event and a technical difficulties moment all in one. WCAE Channel 50 - 3-2-1 Contact (Technical Difficulties Moment, 1980)

Here's a strange technical difficulties moment from an airing of the series 3-2-1 Contact on the PBS station WCAE Channel 50 (St. John, Indiana) - which later became WYIN Channel 56. (giving up the Channel 50 frequency which would then be taken over by WPWR-TV)

We start, innocently enough, with the animated CTW (Children's Television Workshop) logo opening, already in progress, followed by the opening titles sped way-up. Now wait - you might assume that this is the tec...
