Lerner was the station's first sportscaster, and would go on to a long career with such stations as WLS Channel 7, WMAQ Channel 5, WGN Radio 720 and WSCR-AM, as well as being a wrestling announcer. Here's an incredible twofer - 1) A live voiceover promo given by Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall for the infamous Disco Demolition event that took place the following night. Little did they know what was about to occur. They talk about Lorelei and how for some reason WLUP's call letters don't make sense to them.

2) Amazingly, right after they are done talking about WLUP, Greg Pryor pops up a foul ball behind him and Harry goes after it with his trusty fishing net and catches ...

Here is an NBC promo for the Late Night Saturday line-up on WMAQ Channel 5. After Saturday Night Live, it was SCTV at 12 Midnight, Sha-Na-Na at 12:30am, The Guinness Game at 1am, and finally Tales of the Unexpected at 1:30am.

Here's a bumper promo for Tic Tac Dough on WFLD Channel 32. The Jim Barton voiceover started late and so we get to hear more of the background Field Communications music than usual.

They also screwed up because Tic Tac Dough wasn't next, Joker's Wild was. (with no Newscene update)

Mercifully, they then cut the whole thing off.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, October 27th 1980 at 7:30pm.
