Here is a two-minute, awesomely overdone promo (in that 70s way) for WMAQ Channel 5's NewsCenter5 At 10pm, starting off with a space motif and a laser-style lightning bolt traveling around the world and then back to Chicago ("From the stars to the planets, from Chicago to the ends of the earth" - voiceover by Brad Crandall), to promote "a new age of electronic journalism" (a reference to the adoption of video-based ENG) and the resources of NBC News. Some of the clips (of news events within ...

Here's a partial promo for an upcoming airing of the 1938 George Raft / Sylvia Sidney film "You and Me," to air on another obscure TV-44 movie show, this one called T.H.E. Movie (who knows what T.H.E. stood for, if anything?), airing at 8pm. The tape cuts out just before the promo ends. Features their usual multicolored layout for movie bumper slides as prevalent at the time, with a still of Raft and the movie title and stars' names set in Helvetica Medium.

This aired on WSNS Channel 44 and reportedly had it's own host - a mysterious figure in a creepy costume. Here we get to see only a partial commercial bumper from the show - the only type of footage (other than the movie itself) known to exist currently. The movie this night was the very weird 1973 film Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural.

Here is some amazing, ancient footage that really has no business existing.
;-)
Finally the "classic" Movie Eleven opening from the 70's, complete. Prior to this the only footage I found was a brief snippet of the title card. This was a unique night because they were showing a 4 part episode of Dr. Who, "The Claws of Axos". The showed the episodes back-to-back with a brief intermission between ...
