Committee For Energy Awareness - "American Energy For America's Economy" (1983)

Here's a paid annoucement from the Committee for Energy Awareness, touting the importance of American sources of energy. Features a shot of the Braidwood Nuclear Plant (Braidwood Nuclear Generating Station).

Brought to you by the Committee for Energy Awareness (a committee of energy producers and users).

How would you classify this? It's not really a PSA - is it a political ad? Ad paid for by a special interest?

The Lost Snipets - "Children's Dentist" (A FuzzyMemories Re-Creation)

I had some additional Snipets segments but they were transferred from 16mm film and did not have the opening and closing on them. So, I did a little editing job and added them in. Not sure when this segment was created but I went with the 1977 classic "patchwork" Snipets logo. Enjoy.

(again, not lost per se, since this one surfaced on YouTube awhile back, but it was recorded from a Miami station and didn't have the proper end bumper. Also, improved quality here)

Here's the opening segment of the Son of Svengoolie presentation of the 1960 film "Beyond the Time Barrier" on WFLD Channel 32.

This was from within the last weeks of the program (for the record, it's Show #333, per Chicago EpGuides.com), prior to its cancellation in preparation for the transition in station ownership from Metromedia to Fox Television Stations. At this point, the show was switched ...

KBHK Channel 44 [San Francisco] - Ending of Popeye and Opening of The Banana Splits and Friends (1978)

Not from Chicago, but from a station that was then a sister to our own WFLD Channel 32 - Field Communications in San Francisco, a.k.a. KBHK Channel 44 - here's the ending part of Popeye and the opening moments of and first commercial break for The Banana Splits and Friends!

This clip begins as the cartoon "Private Eye Popeye" [1954] is underway; the ending iris and 'a.a.p.' (Associated Artists Productions, Inc.) closing title cards are cut out (a Field trait, appa...

How many people knew Kaiser/Field affiliate WKBD Channel 50 in Detroit showed NBC Saturday Night (A.K.A. Saturday Night Live) first-run before the NBC affiliate did? Here's a bumper promo for the episode featuring Steve Martin and The Kinks.

Voiceover by Jim Barton.

This promo aired on Sunday, April 25th 1982.

Rolling Stone...The 10th Anniversary - "A Day In The Decade" (1977)

Here's something that's pretty awful and bizarre, a segment from the Rolling Stone 10th Anniversary special - a Beatles tribute medley called "A Day in the Decade". It goes on for over 14 minutes, and mercifully perhaps the person recording it decided that was enough. (I think it was almost over anyway)

Local Trivia Note: This special was stereo simulcast (simulcasted?) in the Chicago area on WBBM-FM 96.3.

This aired on local Rockford, IL TV on Friday, November ...
