Here's Part 2 (the final part) of a demo reel from Abel and Associates, a Hollywood-based production and graphics firm headed by Robert Abel.

This came from a 3/4" Umatic tape that was kept by Cathy Mustari, art director for WFLD Channel 32 from 1974 to the late '80's, from a time when the station was actively shopping for production houses to handle their graphics for opens/closes, bumpers, promos, etc.

Harris Bank - Internal Promotional Film (Workprint) (Part 1, 1982)

Here's Part 1 of something pretty neat and rare - a workprint of an internal promotional film from Harris Bank of Chicago, titled Honesty and Fair Dealing: An Introduction to the Harris Bank and the People Who Make It Work, produced for the company's 100th anniversary in 1982. (although maybe it's just the slightly washed-out and dirty work print, this almost seems like it could be from about 1977 - right down to the funky music. I do know that bank culture always seems to be a bit be...

Here's a terrific piece of local history and the next best thing to a guided tour of WFLD's facilities circa 1970 for you broadcast equipment junkies out there (W.B. I'm looking in your direction...) ;-)

Here's a neat demo reel with a lot of vintage clips from Dolphin Productions, a legendary New York-based production company of the 1970's and early '80's that was one of three such firms in the country to use an early, analogue-based video animation system called "Scanimate." (The others were Image West Ltd. of Hollywood, CA and the company that first invented this process, Computer Image Corp. of Denver, CO; a history of the technology can be seen on

WGN Channel 9 - WGN Television Presents - "White Christmas" (Opening & Excerpts + Sales Presentation Excerpt, 1972/1973)

Here's two segments with an early opening title sequence for the long-running late night movie showcase WGN Television Presents on WGN Channel 9, one from an early home videotape recorded in black-and-white (though aired of course originally in color - the recording of which has some tape tracking problems at certain points in the video) and the other from an internal sales presentation video.

The first clip is from the presentation of the 1954 Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye/Ros...
